I retired from a long-term position at the same agency on 8/1/09. I started as a VISTA member at the Volunteer Center of Lewis, Mason and Thurston Counties on 9/4/09 after attending the PSO in Bellevue 8/31 to 9/3/09. I joined VISTA wanting a new adventure while hoping to become more engaged in service and volunteerism. At the PSO, I was impressed with the diverse backgrounds of the younger attendees and enjoyed hearing some of their stories. Since starting my position, I've been trying to get my bearings at a very busy organization as well as with my VAD. Staff and other VISTAs have been very supportive. I think I'm starting to catch on a bit! I'm also new to blogging. I would like to hear from any Baby Boomer VISTAs that may be out there!
